I'm Nicole, and I rent out four lovingly furnished holiday apartments here in Bleckede on the Elbe — right in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Lower Saxon Elbe Valley and only 22 km from Lüneburg. Each apartment tells its own story: from the historic farmhouse with large garden to the cosy town apartment in the centre.

Where exactly is Bleckede located?
Bleckede lies directly on the Elbe river in the Lüneburg district of Lower Saxony — about 22 km east of Lüneburg and 70 km southeast of Hamburg. The town is a state-recognised resort and part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Lower Saxon Elbe Valley.
Are the apartments dog-friendly?
Yes. Three of our four apartments welcome dogs: the farmhouse, the cosy holiday home and the ground-floor town apartment. Extensive dog walks along the Elbe, through the Biosphere Reserve and along the Elbe cycle path.
What can you do in and around Bleckede?
The Biosphaerium Elbtalaue in Bleckede Castle with beaver enclosure, Elbe aquarium and viewing tower; cycling on the Elbe cycle path; hiking in the Biosphere Reserve; the historic old town on the German Timber-Frame Road; forest lido Alt Garge, draisine, Elbe ferry and canoeing on the Elbe.
When is the best time to visit Bleckede?
May to September is peak season for cyclists, paddlers and families; April and October are ideal low-season months for hikers and bird watchers (cranes, wild geese in the Biosphere Reserve). Winter is quiet — perfect for a relaxed short break.

Hamburg is about 57 km as the crow flies (approx. 1 hour by car), Lüneburg about 22 km (approx. 25 minutes). Lauenburg/Elbe is 15 km downstream. Bus line 5100 runs from Lüneburg to Bleckede in about 35 minutes.
